Hearing of the The9 Computer Technology Consulting(Shanghai)Co.,Ltd charging Blizzard Entertainment violating computer software copyright case originally scheduled at 9:00 on March 11 has been canceled as the plaintiff withdraw the accusation.
Commercial defamation disputes of the two companies have concluded on March 10, 2010 and The9 insists 12 million yuan compensation claims, telling the court it does not accept the mediation.
As requested by The9, the plaintiff lawyer refused to be interviewed. Blizzard made no comment. It is still unknown why The9 made two diametrically opposite decisions towards the same defendant.
A well-known lawyer of intellectual property rights in Shanghai said the three charges The9 made against Blizzard Entertainment have been cancelled before the hearing because of objection to the jurisdiction. This time The9 decided to withdraw the accusation may related to this.
He also thinks The9 filed lawsuit against Blizzard might be primarily aimed at the localization property rights of "World of Warcraft", "such as translation and chinesization."But Blizzard has a rich experience in licensing companies, and the contract will certainly have a clear statement of this part of the ownership of intellectual property rights."
In April 2009, Blizzard Entertainment announced that it would not renew its operating contract on the World of Warcraft game with The9. Instead, the company is planning to cooperate with another Chinese online game operator, NetEase.com. Because the revenue from World of Warcraft accounts for a major part of The9's total revenue, the termination of cooperation between Blizzard Entertainment and The9 will potentially bring a great negative impact to The9.
Losing World of Warcraft makes The9 suffer huge losses. Chen Xiaowei, CEO of The9 admits the company lost 92% of income. At the same time, shares of the company have fallen sharply, is now down to about 7 U.S. dollars, while the stock once peaked to 50 dollars.

Apothecary is a crafting production skill that allows you to create potions that apply various temporary augmentations to your characters. A secondary feature in Apothecary is the crafting of dyes. By finding a pigment and grinding it down with a mortar and pestle, anyone can create a substance which is capable of dyeing cloth, leather, or even metal! Whether a Swordmaster or a Witch Elf, all players can benefit from the abundant selection of concoctions available.
The central item of the Apothecary craft is the vial. Vials are rated depending on their quality, which ranges from Apprentice to Master Apothecary. A vial provides the necessary container for the completed potion. Any merchant or vendor in the Age of Reckoning would quickly be put out of business without an unlimited supply of such vials.
An empty vial doesn't make for much of a potion, so you must place a main ingredient, culled from Cultivation or Butchering, into the waiting container. There are other ingredients too: some that increase the number of potions you can create with a single vial, some that extend the duration of the potion's effects, and even some that make it possible to create something better than what you originally planned. Finally, the concoction must be stabilized. Throwing too many ingredients into a single brew makes it volatile and more difficult to concoct.
With all your ingredients in place, you can combine them together in a frenzy of maniacal whimsy, creating wondrous potions that do anything from enhancing your character to gluing your victims to the ground. So grab a vial, a main ingredient, and brew away! Be sure to experiment with different combinations, and share your homebrewed recipes with others!
In order to broaden the appeal of EverQuest II with players in Asia, the SOGA team wanted to change some of the player character models to a different artistic style. The SOGA team decided which models they wanted to re-envision.
The alternate models were not designed as replacement models for the original game. Think of them more as an optional add-on designed by our partners that we're also offering to our players. In the Options menu, there is a tab labeled Alternate Models. This allows you to choose which races and genders of the alternate models you would like to see.
The SOGA team created new models for Erudites, Humans, Barbarians, Dwarves, Halflings, Gnomes, High Elves, Half Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, and Ogres.
Just as you can decide which models you prefer to see on your screen, other players can enable or disable alternate models as they see fit. If you play a male High Elf wizard with the alternate model for your race and gender enabled, you will see your character in alternate form. If other players decide to use the original High Elf male model, they will see your character in the original model on their screens.
You can set an alternate appearance for each of your characters on the character select screen. Changing the alternate appearance will not affect the customizations already saved for the original models; all characters will have separate original and alternate appearances saved. This allows you to determine how your characters appear to players who prefer to use the alternate models.

Over the years many of us have fallen in love with Lineage. I have some extremely fond memories from the L2 beta and in many ways, it lead to my first job in the industry over at WarCry. So what's going on with the genre nowadays? Quite a bit actually! We had the chance to sit down with Sam Han, Lineage II Producer for NCsoft West and Young Park, the original Lineage Production Assistant for NCsoft West to talk about it.
Tamat : Hello there! Thanks for joining me to talk about the Lineage franchise.
Sam Han : Hello Allakhazam!
Tamat : When did you start working on the Lineage franchise?
Sam Han : I've worked on Lineage 2 since 2004. Like many producers in the MMO industry, I started as a GM (Game Master) and worked my way up to a producer position this year.
Young Park : I started almost a year ago. I was working on Tabula Rasa before I started working on the original Lineage.
Tamat : What about your roles of both projects? Can you tell us about the work you've done to make the games so memorable?
SH : With the different roles I've had while working on Lineage 2 for the past 5 years, I've had a lot of exposure to the different areas. I feel like I made good contributions as a GM/Head GM and development liaison, but was really able to make more meaningful changes once I became part of the product development team. As a producer, I have a lot of ideas that I think will make L2 even better for players, and look forward to trying to make the game more memorable than ever.
YP : My role on the project has been to aid the producer in anything he needs to get the job done. This might mean doing QA, writing on the forums, creating ideas for events, coming up with website features, a little of everything.
Tamat : Over the years the Lineage genre has grown up, what would you say are a few of the major accomplishments that lead to all the success?
SH : For North America and European territories, I think the first major accomplishment for Lineage 2 is the quality of teams we have working on it. From Billing to CS, Operations and QA, all of these teams work hard and as a result achieve things that could not be done if they did not work together. It truly is a great accomplishment for all of these different parts to work and interact so well with one another which enable Lineage 2 to function as well as it does.
Secondly, it's the deep content and game play experience of the game itself. I can confidently say that we owe it to Lineage 2 customers all over the world who have contributed ideas and feedback on each update we presented to them. They help us tweak and fine-tune Lineage 2 to the legendary game it is today.
YP : I think that because the Lineage game is so mature, it has added to the appeal. One person might look at it as "Man, this game is 10 years old?" whereas I (along with thousands of players) see it as "Wow, this game has 10 years of content and polish!" I really don't think that there was any one specific moment I would attribute to the success of Lineage. The game is fun, and people told their friends about it. It's as simple as that!
Tamat : Let's focus on Lineage 2 for a bit. What's going on with the live game?
SH : A lot! With CT2 Gracia Part I we introduced the vitality system, which really helped new and existing players enjoy the game and take a little away from the leveling grind. We also introduced the Kamaloka zones, where parties of players can go in and battle through the instanced zones. With Gracia Part II brought Kratei's Cube (a competition style PvE with a PVP element) and the Pailaka instances. These allow solo players to venture through 3 distinct areas at one time. We've been adding a lot of content for players new and old, as well as trying to add content that appeals to PVP, group and solo play.
Tamat : How about Lineage? Anything going on?
YP : Right now, we're working extremely hard to lessen the gap between the Korean and US service. Season 3 of the game is ramping up and everyone is really excited about it. As for the US service, we recently updated the game with the new Episode 6 and Episode U content from Korea and are already working on the next update.
Tamat : Let's talk about new content? Is the team working on something players may not know about?
SH : The team is hard at work to provide players with new experiences all the time. We've had two events since October which were totally unique to the Western Markets. The Halloween Event and the Saving Santa Event were both designed for us, and we have more specialized content on the way. In addition to unique events, there will also be a huge amount of additional content in the last release for CT2, Gracia Final.
Tamat : What's next for the genre? Can fans expect to hear more about Lineage 3 in the near future?
SH : Both Lineage and Lineage II will continue their stories and unfortunately, it is too early to mention anything about Lineage 3 at this time.
YP : All I can say is that NCsoft is working with different ideas to create a fantastic Lineage IP. One where each game connects to one another in some fashion or form.
Tamat : Is there anything else you'd like to share with our readers?
SH : We have a lot of exciting things coming up on the horizon. New events, new account services, and new content. We will try our best to provide a great gaming experience to everyone who loves Lineage II and this is our goal as a team and company.
YP : Personally, I feel that the original Lineage is a game that holds strength over a lot of the new MMO's coming out. Lineage may not have the fancy 3D graphics and shaders that we are now seeing, but I've always been a firm believer and advocate that graphics don't make the game. Lineage is such a well thought out story/game that you quickly forget that you're playing game that was made 10 years ago!
Tamat : Again, thank you for your time and congratulations on all the success that surrounds the Lineage franchise.
Like last time held the event, IGG will give some discounts on event keys for only 1 day. Players can obtain keys in the Item Mall or from our GM. Our GM will set up a stall in Athens to sell them. The first 1000 keys will be sold at a price of 1,200,000 silver coins each. A key will be sold at a price of 2,500,000 silver coins after that.
Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning launched in September of 2008. That statement hardly reflects all the excitement and frustration that led up to that point. With speculation about the final classes, the reasons for delays, and even whether the game would be scrapped when Mythic became part of Electronic Arts, rumors flew fast and hard leading up to the launch of this highly anticipated MMO game. Since the end of the year is a time of reflection before we embrace the coming new year, we thought we should grab a glass of eggnog, park it by the fireplace, and reminisce about all the things that led up to your Bright Wizard getting ganked for the 4,011th time since launch.
Delays, Delays, Delays In the last quarter of 2007, an announcement was sent out to the world that Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning would NOT be coming to your home this year. People were outraged! People were disheartened! People were... pleased? After the experience of the now legendary epic flop of Vanguard, the player base had taken a more enlightened view of one of their games being pushed back for polish. Sure there were a few naysayers and some anger, but for the most part the community was accepting of the fact that Mythic wasn't going to release a game ahead of its time and even applauded their decision! We could wait until Q2 2008 to see this new world and it wasn't like Mythic hadn't been forthcoming with new news about the game. Since Leipzig in August, Mythic had practically been hemorrhaging information, so we had nothing to fear! A few extra months of anticipation would whet our appetites even more.
Then, a few months later, Q2 was coming and we got the news. Jeff Hickman had said at a show in Paris that WAR would be launching in the "fall" of 2008. This was the third time (including April'07, when it was announced that it would ship Q1 2008) that the game had been pushed back. Now doubt crept in and the speculation started. Where they doing it to avoid the growing monster that was Age of Conan? Maybe it was to keep the launch date in time with WoW's Wrath of the Lich King expansion? Would the game launch at all? With EA involved, it wouldn't be the first time they killed a project like this because they thought it was costing too much. Were Mark Jacobs and crew actually Aliens from another planet and we were the guenia pigs of some weird social experiment designed to decide the fate of life on planet earth? Rumors spread across the internet like wildfire, until an official release date was leaked in August and then there was just much rejoicing.
Dude, kick with the infoz!
As was already mentioned, from the time of the 2007 Leipzig convention, Mythic had been as free flowing with game info as a dwarf with a keg of beer. Suddenly, that stopped in January 2008 and we were left with whatever we could drag up from some small commentary by the Mythic folks on a public forums, or what was in the monthly newsletter. That drought ended at the tail end of March, when the Ten Ton Hammer crew was allowed to visit the Mythic HQ in Virginia. There was a wealth of information brought back, from a Josh & Paul interview, to the first look at the WAR Collector's Edition, it turned out to be a very busy few weeks and sparked a lot of new conversation about what we could expect from WAR. In July, Mark Jacobs talked with us about the decisions to remove things from WAR and later in August, Carrie Gouskos gave us all the Tome of Knowledge we could handle in an in depth interview.
Speculation on oil futures? Who cares! Show us the speculation on WAR futures!
There was a lot of speculation on the classes in WAR, with the final class drawing most of the attention. Before the announcement of the White Lion as the High Elf Melee DPS class, people were predicting it as early as 2007 and late as May 2008. Shortly after it was confirmed, Mark Jacobs gave us his take on what he thought a pet of a pet class should be like. Still, the speculation was far from over online, from what to expect in the future of WAR to why we hadn't heard anything new on a few of the classes or the Dogs of War concept that was supposed to keep scenarios balanced and easy to get into.
Na na na naaa, Hey heyyyyy, Good byeeeeeee!
In July 2008, Mark Jacobs came out and made an announcement that shocked WAR fans across the globe. They were going to remove all but two of the player cities and four classes from the game. There was an uproar that the Orc Chopper and the Dark Elven Blackguard weren't going to be an option at the opening of the game. The fact that there were only going to be two siege-able cities instead of six caused some fear that it would go the way of AoC and many believed that the game was going to be launched before it was ready. WAR was getting ready for open beta, a precursor to launch, and it looked like there was still a lot of work to be done. More than one person could be heard saying "Doooooooooooooooooom!"
Let the games... BEGIN!
And on Sept.19th (14th for all you collector's edition buyers out there), Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning launched... and it was good, sort of. The game was new, Orcs were bad ass, and Destruction ruled the world. However, no launch is without its problems. There was prominent crashing to desktop (CTD), the renown system wasn't working quite right in distribution of renown, and sometimes the client wouldn't run... at all. Faction imbalance occurred early and while the queue's helped, they were sometimes downright annoying. Mythic corrected this problem within a few weeks of launch by creating more servers... and then a few months later started the server transfer blitz as the populations thinned out. However, the game was well received and the RvR has been one of the more celebrated parts of WAR.
The Here and Now If you've stuck with the game you've seen vast improvements over the course of a few months. CTD's are lower than ever and with the server merges, faction population is stabilizing. We've already had two live events, one to celebrate Halloween , another to herald the coming of two of the exiled classes, the Knight of the Blazing Sun and the ever popular Blackguard, and are currently embroiled in the Keg End event. RvR received a recent boost with an increase in awarded experience and renown for Open RvR as well as ORvR rewards, RvR gear that's purchasable with enough ORvR participation points. Public Quests have had some of their difficulties changed in Tier 1 to be easier to complete in smaller groups and the rare rewards for the harder PQ's now drop more frequently.
It's been a wild ride for those of us who followed WAR from start to finish and like all rides, it's had its ups and downs. From delayed release dates to removed Racial Cities to the reintroduction of two of the four exiled classes, there's not been a dull moment since prior to release. And with the Lore of Warhammer having only been touched on, you can expect a lot more changes and additions in the future as Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning continues to strive to be one of the best games on the market today.
Reviewer always say that Final Fantasy XI is demanding. This is a controversial topic among players. Who knows, Vana'diel is keep on changing. In the past few years, Square Enix has released updates to ease the difficulty and time consuming properties of the game. Level sync, Campaign, the Fields of Valor, and some would even argue the jobs of Scholar and Dancer. In addition to these changes, there have also been tutorial NPCs introduced, which give good rewards to newcomers and experience point boosts for new players as well.
Fields of Valor is the most recent addition in SE's ongoing effort to lessen FFXI's difficulty. Field Manuals, located in a variety of areas from North Gustaberg to Xarcabard, allow you to undergo several training regimens based on your Job's level. Giving you a number of monsters to eliminate in a certain amount of time, and allowing you to receive a chunk of experience points, gil, and "tabs," which are used to acquire other rewards specifically from the Fields of Valor.
It is, of course, seemingly harmless. A quaint mini-game designed to be a small distraction from the busy lives of many Vana'dielians, filling up only a short amount of time. The kicker is, these regimens can be completed once every Vana'diel day, which is essentially once an hour, depending on when you begin the training regimen. This is but one thing in a long pattern of updates.
After Wings of the Goddess, a large scale battle system was implemented, called Campaign, allowing you to combat with the Beastmen Confederate's armies. This also had the potential to net a large amount of experience points, but unlike the Fields of Valor, battles can be participated in whenever you like, and depending on which role you take in a combat situation, well over 1,000 experience points can be gained per battle. Of course, there are some catches, such as different level groups have experience point restrictions on them, assuring that lower level players can't game the system, but the effect remains the same.
It can potentially allow individuals to level their way up the ladder in a certain job simply by campaigning, which enables certain people to skirt the experiences of learning how to participate in a party properly.
Level Sync, a system introduced earlier in 2008, allowed individuals to form parties, regardless of their level, and ‘sync' levels (including equipment) to one party member which lets people find parties much more often. Many people hail the system of course, and it does what it does well; allowing people to find parties faster and accumulate experience points more efficiently, without having to worry about those pesky level gaps. Also earlier this year, several monsters were adjusted to reward players with more experience points upon their defeat.
However, not all is perfect with this system of course. Increasing the experience point gain from weaker monsters incentivizes soloing, leading to more competition for monsters at certain camp sites. Scaling down equipment is a good idea on paper, but it makes high level equipment or equipment with a lot of special effects or stat-enhancements almost entirely worthless to wear.
Not only that, but certain areas are simpler to party in and other monsters easier to gain experience points from, leading to overcrowding of these areas. Colibri are notoriously easy to gain experience from, as well as Yhoator Mandragora in Yhoator Jungle, and these areas have become more heavily populated since the release and this has occasionally led to some difficulty in finding a proper camp. While the Level Sync system does make it easier to create parties, it also makes it easier for party leaders to weed out undesirable jobs. Now that every person is a potential party member, you're no longer forced to use jobs around your level range, meaning that unpopular jobs like Beastmasters or Puppetmasters could have a more difficult time finding a group.
Smaller adjustments have been made in other areas of the game as well. Also in the recent update, new warp NPCs were added, monsters in several areas now occasionally drop a "Treasure Casket" containing random goodies, the product taxes on bazaar items in Jueno were abolished, and earlier this year, costs for entering Limbus and Dynamis were halved.
"What's the problem here," some of you might be saying. The controversy is because of many veterans and reactionaries to the popularity of simpler, more casual games such as World of Warcraft. Many Final Fantasy XI players find the charm of FFXI relies precisely in its difficulty and its challenge, and many traditionalists (such as myself from time to time) find the trend of games as a whole to a more casual set of gameplay to be unsettling. Many veterans may also feel as if all their hard work was for naught, and that new players have things far easier than they had to contend with.
On the other hand, according to the most recent Vanadiel Census, the vast majority (75%) log in for only 1-3 hours a day, and only 11% of players log in for 4-6 hours a day. It's only logical that Square Enix would try to accommodate the majority of its players and draw in players who would be interested in FFXI if they felt they could accomplish more things in less time, not only from a purely gaming standpoint, but as a business decision as well.
There are two colors will be available, red and blue. There's a possibility that they are color coordinated towards faction, but hopefully they aren't. The Dragonhawk mounts look extremely unique
How to get the new mount
A new achievement of course. Patch 3.08, which is currently on the Public Test Realms, includes a new achievement called Mountain o' Mounts. This is an extension on the old achievement Leading the Cavalry. While Leading the Cavalry required a player to stable 50 unique mounts, Mountain 'o Mounts really pushes the bar. The new achievement requires 100 unique mounts. Probably when this achievement was announced the first question most people had was wondering if this is even possible. Obtaining 50 mounts before WotLK hit was considered a major feat, essentially requiring exalted status with all home factions. Just like with the old achievement, Warlock and Paladin and Death Knight class special mounts count towards the total.
Because there were less mounts obtainable by the Horde faction pre-WotLK, the following list of mount totals is taken from the Horde perspective. Before WotLK came out, the average Horde player had access to around 66 mounts. Or 45 if you happen to be a Tauren. These are non special mounts that can be grinded for through either rep or token turn in. There's around 10 more mounts of the rare quality that could be achieved through running instances, and even a few more that were rare to start with and can't be obtained anymore.
So starting from a base total of 66 mounts, poor Taurens, and adding to it the Albino Drake you'd get on the way to 100 anyway, there needs to be at least 33 new mounts in WotLK for the average player. Short answer, there aren't. Long answer, there are very few new mounts added to the game with WotLK and definitely not enough to meet 33.
There are four new mounts from Mei Francis vendor. There are 6 new ground mounts, but trying to get them involves a lot of luck or a lot of gold. The Mechano-hog for example: the new engineering motorcycle mount has a 12,500g price tag even if you farm all of the other mats required by yourself. Tailors get really lucky here with the ability to craft 6 unique mounts to add to their totals. Players attempting to get this Mountain o' Mounts achievement as soon as possible are probably going to want to drop whatever profession they have and level Tailoring. WotLK also added an additional 8 flying mounts. Drakes and Proto-drakes. These are going to be the hardest mounts to get, most of them requiring 25 man raid achievements. So there is a total of 24 new mounts that are possible to achieve.

Mythic Entertainment today announced that in the first week since launch over 500,000 new players have registered Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, from North America, Europe and the Oceanic territories. EA's most highly pre-ordered PC title, WAR has now become the fastest-selling new MMO of all time.
"In just one week we have a half a million people playing WAR online, and the ranks of Order and Destruction are growing at a record-breaking pace for a new MMORPG," said Mark Jacobs, co-founder and general manager of Mythic Entertainment. "We spent years working to provide players with the most stable, epic, and polished online world we could, but it is the players that have truly brought the Age of Reckoning to life."
Based on the popular tabletop war game from Games Workshop, Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning features revolutionary RvR conflict that will provide an engaging battleground for years to come. Available for PC and rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB, WAR is now in stores everywhere at an MSRP of $49.99.
Pilots are killed long before CONCORD arrives. The response time have been decreased so they will arrive quicker, and we should see a more helpful CONCORD aiding those in need.
The function have also been changed. CONCORD now spawns in groups of 3 ships: 2 frigate sized vessels, which will lock the aggressor down in place, and a heavy hitting battleship to reduce his or her ship to metal scraps. The frigates will lock almost instantly while the battleship takes longer to lock, and the aggressor is made more aware of his or her impending doom.
Security penalties Since the beginning of EVE, security penalties have been flat throughout every region of space (excluding 0.0). It has basically meant that the "security level" of a system means nothing, as the same penalty goes in all spaces. Although CONCORD has faster response times in the higher securities, it has not changed the fact that penalties are the same.
Through our research, we discovered that the balance between gaining standing and losing it was not in line with our intentions. It is too easy to gain back lost standing, taking only a few days to erase all the damage done by ganking. This is about to change.
1.0 will now be the safest of places, where aggressions and kills will be severely penalized and can quickly outlaw the aggressor from higher security levels. Conversely, 0.1, 0.2, and 0.3 will see a decrease in penalty, but not a big step down. This should move most ganking to the lower security areas where it belongs.
CONCORD will always frown on pod killing, thus the lowest penalty will not go below its current, which is a 12.5% standing loss. It is still possible to pod kill in high-security areas, and of course those at war or in 0.0 won't be affected.
The changes to security standings will make it harder for players to casually gank another player, and creates a challenge, so that if you are going to kill someone, you better realize the consequences.
Note that the security penalty uses the actual security rating of a system. A system listed with a 0.5 rating, for example, can actually range from 0.45 to 0.54. This means that the penalty can vary from system to system, so don't be surprised if you notice a varied security penalty in similarly rated systems.
The CONCORD changes and Security penalty will be hitting TQ this fall, with Empyrean Age 1.1.
No panic is the most important thing, the supreme PvP rule - if there was a PvP version of the Ten Commandments, this would be the first thing etched in stone. When you lose your cool, strategy breaks down along with ability, coherence, and communication. Such a catastrophic failure has only one end - your smoldering husk littering the battlefield. Luckily, there are two key factors to avoid getting your dignity stomped upon - realization and experience. Realization is easy; just remember you're playing a game. When your guy dies, gets taunted, or even gets drunk, all these actions have no effect on you, the player. Often, dying numerous times combined with taunting can lead to a frivolous waste of your character's life and a seat in the front row of watching a spawn timer. So above all, staying cool by realizing it's just a game will drastically help your team succeed. As for experience, this can only be gained with experience. No matter how many times one can read a guide to this or that, or even have someone explain the objective to you, there is just no substitute for good old fashioned experience. That being said, the best way to learn the mission objectives, along with the snipe spots, best healing range, and shortcuts, will come with time. It's great to read up on something, don't frown upon knowledge, just remember that practice makes perfect.
Players more or less found that that game is just the same as other MMOs, questing, joining team and grinding. But after getting some experinence, we can see something exciting, lets take a look at what levels 21-30 had to offer...
At around level 22-23 is kind of boring, Leveling in Warhammer is a major grind. The exp bar keeps getting longer and longer but the quest rewards, for the most part, stay about the same. Thankfully, last week Mythic speed up the way the queues in the battleground scenarios work so you can get the lion's share of your experience by killing players, rather than monsters. The Tier 3 scenarios are a lot of fun. The only problem is that only one of them is widely played (at least on my server). Tor Anroc is set inside of an active volcano and the goal is to kill as many players you can while your side controls the "bauble" which ticks off points as long as you control it. The only downside is that as it ticks off points, it also pulsates increasing amounts of damage into the person holding it. Controlling the bauble isn't required to win, but it makes things a little easier. Each kill counts for 10 points, and the bauble is worth a point every few seconds. The first squad to 500 wins. The only thing you need to worry about now is finding better gear.
Mount Gunbad, WAR's lowest level [full-fledged] dungeon, is an ideal place to go to deck yourself out in level 20-30 blue and grape con drops. Pretty much all of the mobs are either champion or hero caliber, so you need at least a full group to take on the more interesting challenges inside. There are a bunch of higher-than-normal exp quests for Gunbad as well, so as long as your healers aren't busy picking mushrooms when they should be keeping people alive, it's a great place to take a break from the everyday grind. The dungeon looting system is the same as public quests, so it's in your best interest to do your best if you want a bigger roll modifier (and a better chance to win something tasty from the golden chest at the end of each stage). Another little twist is that Mt. Gunbad is open to all of the realms, so besides encountering harder than usual monsters, you might run across better built groups of enemy characters also.

SPELLS Spells which do not expire have been made uninterruptable. There are some exceptions which include spells which summon pets or have limited uses.
Bruiser Divide and Conquer should now properly apply hate to the entire encounter. Fury Natural Mask should now gray out when casted. Ranger Thorny trap should now work properly for evil rangers on pvp servers.
PVP Illusionists on their epic quest should no longer take lose faction with Freeport when using the Lucan illusion and then removing it. The additional experience multiplier for PvP kills has been reduced slightly.
Craig Morrison , the new game director of AOC, said the game server merge confirmed. They have made this great decision on this issue, they have been actively working on an approach to merge servers, both in Europe and North America. To better serve the game environment and community for players in the future, and to ensure everything happens as fair and streamlined as possible. Making sure that guilds and players can get to new servers in the best possible way.
The DirectX 10 version unfortunately had to keep on internal test-servers for launch. It's now almost ready for the full test server. Once the next game-play update is out expect to start to see the DX10 functionality coming to the test environment.
Most frequent question for newbie players should be raiding, and what is needed in order to be prepared to raid. This is what we gonna discuss.
Firstly and the most important of course is gear. Players beginning to raid should have fewer than three green-quality items, and the rest should be blue-quality or above. These can be attained through dungeons. Players should start with normal-mode instances, and then working up to heroic mode. The final bosses in Heroic dungeons all drop at least one epic-quality item, and all bosses drop one Badge of Justice. Badges of Justice obtained from heroic mode instances can be saved up and used to buy significantly better gear than what you would normally find in 5-man instances. Since most instances have between three to five bosses and in combination with a daily quest in Shattrath City that awards two additional badges for completion of the day's instance (chosen at random), it's possible to obtain seven badges from a single run. So when running heroic instances daily, one can assemble a good set of armor within two weeks.
Secondly is the consumables, there are five types of consumables available for raiding - item enhancement, food, flasks/elixirs, potions and bandages. Item enhancement consumables are things such as mana oils and sharpening stones. Determining which one is most desirable for you depends on the class you play. Food, can be gained through Cooking. Everyone can learn this as a side-skill, and given how beneficial food buffs are at level 70, every player should have it maxed out at 375. Elixirs come in two varieties: Battle and Guardian. Battle elixirs enhance your offensive stats, such as: attack power, spell damage, critical strike and agility or strength. Guardian elixirs enhance defensive stats such as: armor, stamina or intellect and spirit. You can only have one of each type of elixir active on you at a time. Elixirs last one hour and you lose them when you die. Potions give a short-term benefit and have a two-minute cooldown. The most commonly used type of potions are mana potions and healing potions, which provide an immediate recovery of either mana or health. The last should be bondages for first aid, is a skill that players can be a life-saver.
For obtaining everything needed for a raid, you must do one of two things - gather all the needed materials yourself or buy them from another player. Most players buy their materials from the auction house. The best way to farm gold in a hurry is to complete the daily quests for the various level 70 factions.
Of course, if you would like to buy gold for WOW, we have the competitive price for you.
EVE's latest expansion Empyrean Age, updated with the 1.1 patch , the patch was called the people's patch, it concentrated most players suggestions. The 1.1 patch notes are practically a novel, with hundreds of user interface tweaks, bug fixes and little things that players suggested CCP take a look at. Not surprisingly, there was little content added in the 1.1 patch, though the content that was added is way over due.
in 1.2, EVE will see the addition of "Certificates" a new game feature that allows players to become certified in areas of expertise, it is comparative to a high school diploma, or a college degree. These certificates will be viewable by you and other players, so it adds a valuable corporation recruiting tool for CEOs. With the addition of certificates, 1.2 allows players to finally prove that they "have what it takes" to do certain jobs, whether it be industry, or combat related. Certificates will also allow players to more accurately plan their skills without the aid of evemon and other similar programs. For example, let's say I'm new to the game and I have no idea where to start, I can go and look at the certificates menu and see what skills are needed to gain certification in the mining field, or missile specialist field, and then I can plan my skill training accordingly.
The next update players in New Eden can expect is Empyrean Age 1.2. The 1.2 patch is all about content, according to Arend Stuhrmann, the associate producer of EVE. In 1.2 we can expect even more missions, even more than were added in 1.1. in 1.2, EVE will see the addition of "Certificates" a new game feature that allows players to become certified in areas of expertise, it is comparative to a high school diploma, or a college degree. The latest installment of the "Ask a Dev" article series is now available! Through the Senior Designer Bruce Harlick's comments on the Mission Architect, we knew the mission designers have access to a much larger set of tools then are included with the Mission Architect. It's all about tradeoffs. With that in mind, they'll push the envelop as far as we can here and use the resources we have, and the new resources we can get, to create kicking new Story Arcs and missions that go beyond what you can do in Mission Architect.
Bruce also would like to see branching stories in the game, where the player choices dictated what came next in the story. He said It's a thorny problem. For one thing, it greatly magnifies the number of missions needed for any story arc. Any time you have a branch, you're doubling (at the minimum) the amount of content you need to create and you end up creating content that only a fraction of the player base is going to see. There are also technical issues; for example, branching stories work well in single-player games, but can lead to trouble in a multi-player game.
CCP Games is bringing back live dev blogs for EVE Online on speed balancing. Developers Greyscale and Fendahl will be on-hand this Wednesday, October 8th at 20:00 GMT to address player questions about these changes. The dev blog will last roughly an hour, and will take place in EVE, in the "Live Dev Blog" channel.
If you're interested in getting your questions answered, you'll need to post in the thread linked to this live dev blog to get your questions on their list. Players are already firing away, asking if the speed changes are limited to the nano-nerf and adjustments of stasis webifiers/warp scramblers, or if more sweeping changes to game mechanics are on the horizon. If you want answers about the speed balancing, this is probably your best chance for the time being, unless CCP opts to come out with an updated dev blog following this event.
Games Radar serves up a lengthy review of WAR, calling it the most significant MMO release since WoW and praising the integration of Realm vs Realm, the Public Quests and polish.
Its Realm vs Realm aspect is a river that runs deep, not a superficial trickle of extra features. It isn't MMO v2 by a long shot, but it is a response to rather than simply an imitation of WoW. As well as incorporating Mythic's own RvR concepts from Dark Age of Camelot into a current-gen game, it's identified much of what has and hasn't proved successful in the last three years of MMOs. As a result, compared to all the other post-WoW MMOs, WAR is both dramatically more ambitious and an odd admission of failure on the entire genre's part. Where others have tried to set themselves up as huge worlds full of discovery and mystery, a place for adventurers, this is perhaps more cynical.
Issue 13 for CoH/CoV was previously titled "Architect" with the introduction of player designed scenarios. It looks like this has been bumped to Issue 14 and the new Issue 13 is titled Power and Responsibility, with offline character progression and selectable character loadouts the key features:
Another character customisation option and City of Heroes innovation, Issue 13 delivers the ability to have two different build-outs for each character, including which powers are selected and which Enhancements are slotted. With this feature it will now be possible for all characters to diversify their game experience by visiting any Trainer and switching the entire build of their character to an alternate one. You can use this separate build for whatever you like: if you wish to use different power selections for soloing and groups, you can do that. This even makes it possible to have different sets slotted for PVP and PVE. This new system gives characters the added depth and flexibility to tackle any challenge!
New Age of Conan game director Craig Morrison has confirmed a server merge is on the cards:
Another aspect which has popped up in the forums recently is whether we are going to do a server merge or not, and they are actively working on an approach to merge servers, both in Europe and North America. It's important for us to ensure the best gameplay experience for you all, and more healthy populations on each. Still, there are many complexities involved in this, everything happens as fair and streamlined as possible.
The DirectX 10 version, which unfortunately had to be kept on internal test-servers for launch. It's now almost ready for the full test server. Once the next game-play update is out expect to start to see the DX10 functionality coming to the test environment. How long it will take to transition to live will depend on the testing of course, but it's starting to shape up nicely. Having done some reviews of it internally over the last few weeks I can admit that a few of the features really do give some added visual punch. It's a feature that is long awaited and I can assure you the technical folk here are working flat out to try and get the version in a state where it can be considered for live release.

In Raising the Banner, GU #49, there will be a big change to the experience. The amount of experience needed to progress from levels 20 - 70 has been lowered to allow a speedier progression for people playing in those tiers. With this change, it is possible that people who are close to their next level may ding, but no one should ding more than one level. The drop rate of Adept I spells and combat arts was added as the bonus to increase experience. This will enable people to more easily upgrade as they progress through the levels. There are also some major changes to the achievment experience gained through mentoring. While players are mentoring a lower level friend or guildmate, they will now receive more achievment experience than they did before. Additionally, the larger the gap in levels, the more exp you can get! If you are mentoring a friend 51 or more levels below you, you will earn a 300% bonus to your achievement experience gained through combat or loot items. You will also receive the bonus whether your apprentice has their combat exp enabled or not. With all these changes coming, we've got one more surprise in store! This weekend, September 26-29, there will be the first EVER double experience weekend! The music ffxi gil has received mixed reviews; while reviewers have praised some of the associated albums such as Final Fantasy XI Rise of the Zilart Original Soundtrack and Final Fantasy XI Treasures of Aht Urhgan Original Soundtrack, other albums, such as Final Fantasy XI Chains of Promathia Original Soundtrack and Music from the Other Side of Vana'diel, were not as universally liked. Several songs, especially "Distant Worlds", remain popular today, and have been performed numerous times in orchestral concert series, as well as been published in arranged and compilation albums by Square as well as outside groups.
Najena is the home of the Teir'Dal master elementalist. Najena left her home, Neriak, so that she would be free to practice her arts far from prying eyes. The Empress of the Elements settled in the Lavastorm Mountains, where there was an abundance of mana and resources befitting her experiments, and there created her underground laboratory.
Najena couldn't just walk out of Neriak and build her lair, though. She took many months building her sanctuary in secret. Under the guise of doing research for Neriak, she created minions to carve out the underground fortress. She laboured quietly, diverting resources from projects for the Dark Elven Empire, to silently build her own little kingdom.
Najena recruited a band of ogres from the Foreign Quarter to her cause. All the pieces were now in place and the elemental mistress set her plan into motion. She left Neriak with her faithful ogres and two others on a research trip to Faydwer. Naturally, the expedition never made it. The ship carrying them was destroyed in the Ocean of Tears. Only two bodies, a Dragoon and another mage, were ever found. Neriak mourned her loss... And Najena was free.
The workshops of Najena's fortress were soon bustling. Her ever faithful ogre guards protected her home and over the nextseveral years a very few of Najena's most loyal cohorts slipped out of Neriak and made their way to Lavastorm to join in her studies.
Najena soon became a haven of elemental experiments. Traps were set to dissuade curious adventurers and soon the foothills surrounding the lair were filled with elementals, some guardians and some experiments gone rogue. It is said that during one of the greatest experiments ever performed by Najena, there was called forth a horde from the elemental planes that rebelled and created such an immense blast of energy during the ensuing magical battle, that it blew the gigantic entrance doors of Najena off their hinges.
However, all good things must come to an end. Neriak learned of Najena's deception and her location. Members of the Indigo Brotherhood were sent to capture Najena and destroy her stronghold. They might have succeeded, or even fared better, but the Queen was a long time ally and sent word ahead to Najena, warning her of the invaders. With the Queen's blessing and promise of silence, Najena developed a plan.
The army made its way into Najena's fortress... and was destroyed. The elemental mistress's control over fire was great and she used it to shatter the entrance to her home. The few survivors made their way back to Neriak and reported the destruction to the King, Tearis Thex. And so it has long been recorded that Najena was no more... The records are wrong.
Today, Najena is a vast subterranean complex. Having grown over the years, it is now divided into several districts, connected by a winding underground waterway. The study of magic and the elements continues unabated and any brave enough to venture here should beware the elementals that lurk there.
The website of MMORPG.com has released an article by its managing editor Jon Wood after playing the head start for Mythic's Warhammer Online. He offered many points of his opinions with the game to discuss "Is the game really worth players' money?"
The details are as below:
While the title of this article might be a little bit cliched and obvious, the spirit behind it is perfectly legitimate. With the full launch of Mythic Entertainment's Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning only a few hours away, I thought it might be helpful for those of you out there who haven't rushed out and bought the Collector's Edition or pre-ordered a box to hear my impressions of the game and whether or not you should go out and spend your hard earned money on this new RvR offering.
The answer to the question ,"Is it worth my money?" isn't as easy or black and white as you might think. Like most MMOs, your enjoyment of Warhammer Online is going to depend on your own personal likes and dislikes when it comes to MMOs. I'm going to address a number of questions that you may or may not have about the game:
Looking for something totally blow-me-away revolutionary?
So, right out of the gate, I'm going to say that if you're hoping for an MMO that is going to turn the post-WoW industry on its ear and blow us away with sandboxy content and totally outside the box systems, you shouldn't spend your money on this one. I'm also inclined to say though that if this is what you were expecting Warhammer Online to be, then you probably should have looked at any of the material put out by Mythic over the last few years. WAR was never meant to be that kind of game. It's cool to be dissapointed about that fact, but it shouldn't be a surprise.
What I thought that WAR did do well was to bring exciting elements out of existing MMOs and integrating them into WAR's mechanics. The systems so far as I can tell are pretty solid and when put together make for a really entertaining game.
What about PvP?
I'm also going to say that if you absolutely, 100% can't stand the idea of PvP, you probably shouldn't spend your money on Warhammer Online. It's an RvR game at its core, and while it does offer PvE elements, I found that they really serve to compliment the many other RvR-based systems that the developers have put into place. If you jump into this game and only do the PvE portions, you're probably going to be disappointed. I mean, they're solid enough I guess, but for the most part this isn't where the meat or innovation of the game shines.
That all being said, the way that PvP is being presented in WAR has the potential to move people who are on the fence about PvP, or enjoy the occasional tussle, over to the dark side. The scenarios, battlefield objectives and other RvR elements don't really bash you over the head with the "my e-peen is bigger than yours, my uber-lewt will ends you" elements that many non-PvPers try to avoid. Instead offering shorter term "bursts" of PvP (or RvR) combat that leave even a player who gets his butt handed to him more often than not (ahem *cough* I suck *cough*) wanting to participate more and more (and I'm actually improving).
One thing to note though... If you're a novice at PvP, don't jump into the Open RvR servers. There is plenty of RvR action on the Core servers, and you don't run the risk of getting ganked again and again by some high level clown looking for some kicks at your expense. On the other hand, if you're one of those players who loves the thrill of being in danger at all times and enjoy the realism of not being artificially separated and restricted by level, the Open RvR servers are probably right up your alley. Who needs those carebears anyway?
